New Tetra OS Updates Deliver Visibility and Control Over How Your Platform Runs

Getting scientific data flowing into a usable format is one problem.

Running that pipeline well, day after day, across dozens of instruments and multiple sites, is a different problem. Most scientific data platforms stop at getting the data in the door. With the release of Tetra v4.6.0, the Tetra OS now extends into that operational layer: real-time visibility into ingestion health, and more control over how file ingestion paths are configured.

Four new alerts are now available to monitor Tetra File-Log Connector ingestion continuously: an agent going silent, ingest throughput dropping against its own baseline, upload latency, and scan duration anomalies. Configure the ones that matter for a given fleet, and the admin who owns it gets a direct signal within minutes, generated by the platform itself. Without that, a stalled connector or a quietly failing instrument surfaces the way it always has: when someone notices a gap in the data, usually at review time, well after the point where it could have been caught in minutes.

The same principle runs through path visibility. A new search bar finds any path by name, label, pattern, or source type, across every connector, local or cloud-managed, online or offline, so an admin covering multiple sites can get a clear, current picture of what's covered and ingested without relying on a spreadsheet that's out of date by the time anyone opens it.

A few smaller changes round out the release. IT Mode got a visual refresh, including a dark mode option, for anyone spending long stretches in the admin console. An idle Tetra App now shuts itself down instead of quietly running, and billing, in the background, so hosting cost tracks actual use without anyone having to audit it by hand. And the new Job Monitor page gives admins a live view of job status directly, without having to ask their account team.
