TetraScience's Data Lake is powered by S3.
Identity and Access Management (IAM)
Key Management Services (KMS)
IAM & KMS help us ensure that every organization has complete control and security over their data. Each organization is provisioned a KMS key, from which all of their organizational data is encrypted. Extensive use of IAM role and policies utilizes permissions to allow and deny users’ access to other organizations’ data.
Think of Cloudwatch as your AWS watchdog: it monitors the health of your system so as data passes through the TetraScience Integration Engine, users have a clear view of their data and operational health.
This is where standardization magic happens. TetraScience leverages Lambdas to convert incoming raw data to an intermediary data schema (IDS) or the Allotrope Data File (ADF) format and then store those files in S3. TetraScience’s preferred conversion output is a JSON file.
Relational Database Service (RDS)
S3 is the backbone of the TetraScience Data Lake. For TetraScience customers, S3 storage provides a low-cost, scalable, and secure solution.
Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS) makes it easy to set up, operate, and scale a relational database in the cloud. It provides cost-efficient and resizable capacity while automating time-consuming administration tasks such as hardware provisioning, database setup, patching and backups.
Elastic Container Service (ECS)
Users can access their data in two ways.Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS) is a search engine that allows an org to easily run, scale, and secure Docker container applications.
Through its API, users can search across metadata stored in the IDS.For high-performance and SQL queries, TetraScience also offers Athena, an interactive query service that makes it easy to analyze data in Amazon S3. This is particularly helpful when visualizing massive amounts of data or for machine-learning capabilities.
Application Load Balancer (ALB)
Elastic Load Balancing automatically distributes incoming application traffic across multiple targets, such as Amazon EC2 instances, containers, IP addresses, and Lambda functions. It can handle the varying load of your application traffic in a single Availability Zone or across multiple Availability Zones. Elastic Load Balancing offers three types of load balancers that all feature the high availability, automatic scaling, and robust security necessary to make your applications fault tolerant.
Elastic Container Registry (ECR)
Amazon Elastic Container Registry (ECR) is a fully-managed Docker container registry that makes it easy for developers to store, manage, and deploy Docker container images. Amazon ECR is integrated with Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS), simplifying your development to production workflow. Amazon ECR eliminates the need to operate your own container repositories or worry about scaling the underlying infrastructure.
Simple Notification Service (SNS)
Amazon Simple Notification Service (SNS) is a highly available, durable, secure, fully managed pub/sub messaging service that enables you to decouple microservices, distributed systems, and serverless applications. Amazon SNS provides topics for high-throughput, push-based, many-to-many messaging.
